Why We Assign Technicians by Brand, Not by Postcode
Two refrigerators with identical symptoms can need completely different work depending on who built them. A Sub-Zero-class column, a Samsung French-door and a Liebherr integrated cabinet share a category and almost nothing else: different service documentation, different diagnostic procedures, different parts channels with different lead times.
So dispatch here is decided by platform. The technician sent to a mixed built-in kitchen is one who has worked on those manufacturers before, because sending whoever is nearest produces a second visit — and on built-in equipment a second visit is expensive for everyone.
Parts Availability Varies More Than Price Does
It is the part of a repair owners least expect and the one that most affects how long a kitchen is out of action. The mass-market platforms — Whirlpool, GE, Frigidaire and the brands built on them — have the deepest networks: most components arrive next day and many travel on our vans.
European and hand-built equipment runs differently. Parts are ordered rather than stocked, and a week is normal on some platforms while a custom configuration can take considerably longer. None of that is a problem as long as you are told before you approve the work, which is why every quote we give includes the lead time alongside the price.
Genuine Parts, and When We Say Otherwise
We fit manufacturer parts wherever they are available, and on luxury and built-in equipment we will not fit anything else — tolerances at that level do not accept an approximation. Where a component is discontinued and a quality equivalent exists, we identify it in the quote and explain why before it goes in.
Manufacturer Bulletins and Extended Coverage
Several known faults on current equipment are covered by service bulletins or extended manufacturer warranties — compressors on certain refrigeration platforms, ice compartments on several French-door ranges, sealed systems generally. Checking your model and serial against those is the first thing we do on refrigeration, before a dollar of paid work is quoted.
For a good number of owners that single check is worth the entire repair, and it is not something a company gets paid to do.
Not Seeing Your Brand?
The pages here cover the manufacturers we are called to most. We service considerably more than we have pages for, so if it plugs in or connects to a gas line it is worth asking — the dispatcher will tell you in a minute whether we cover it.
