Dacor Has Two Distinct Service Eras
The brand built its reputation on wall ovens and cooktops for Southern California kitchens. Since 2016 it has been part of Samsung, and the newer Modernist equipment carries a far heavier electronic control layer than the older units ever had.
That split matters in practice. A twelve-year-old Dacor wall oven is a straightforward electromechanical repair; a current Modernist unit is as much a controls diagnosis as a mechanical one. Dacor repair means knowing which machine is in front of you before the first test.

The Calls We Take Most on Dacor
| What you notice | Where we look first |

What Fails, and Why It Fails Here
Self-clean and the latch
The cycle runs far hotter than normal cooking and it is hard on the latch motor, the hinges and the electronics behind the cavity. A door locked shut after self-clean is the single most frequent Dacor repair on our books, and it is a routine part rather than a disaster.
Wall ovens fifteen and twenty years old
Dacor built its name on wall ovens, and there are a great many of them in kitchens across Chicago and the western suburbs that are now fifteen or twenty years old. Most are worth keeping — but some pre-2015 boards are discontinued, and we check availability during the diagnosis rather than ordering hopefully.
Dacor Parts, Availability and Lead Times
Current equipment draws on the Samsung premium parts network, which is genuinely useful for availability. Older Dacor is mixed: sensors, latches and elements remain easy, some control boards are discontinued. We tell you plainly when a repair is no longer economic.
Dacor Repair Pricing
Diagnostics are $79, credited to the repair. Most Dacor work runs $299 to $780: latches, sensors, igniters and fans at the lower end, control and relay boards on built-in refrigeration at the top.
Why Owners Book Us for Dacor
- Both generations serviced — older electromechanical units and current Modernist controls.
- Parts availability checked at the diagnosis, before anything is ordered.
- Straight answer on discontinued boards rather than an open-ended wait.
- Written warranty on parts and labour.
Questions We Are Asked Before Booking
Are parts still available for older Dacor appliances?
For most of the range, yes, though some pre-2015 boards are discontinued. We check during the diagnosis and tell you plainly if a repair is no longer economic.
Is Dacor the same as Samsung now?
Dacor has been part of Samsung since 2016. Newer models share control architecture with Samsung premium equipment, which helps both diagnosis and parts. The cooking hardware is still Dacor.
My oven door locked after self-clean and will not open. What now?
Do not force it. It is the latch motor or thermal switch, it is the most common Dacor repair we do, and it is a stocked part.
Do you service Dacor built-in refrigeration?
Yes, including columns and integrated units. Sealed-system work is quoted separately from component work so the cost difference is visible.
