Terms and Conditions

The terms that apply when you book an appliance repair with us — what the diagnostic covers, how quotes and payment work, and what the warranty means in practice.

Last updated: August 1, 2026

These terms apply to appliance repair, installation and maintenance services provided by A+ Appliance Repair and Maintenance (“we”, “us”) to you, the customer. Booking a visit means you accept them.

1. Booking and access

Appointments are booked in two-hour arrival windows and the technician calls ahead when on the way. You must ensure that an adult over 18 is present for the whole visit, that the appliance is accessible and that the work area is safe to work in. If we cannot access the appliance or the premises, the visit is treated as a completed service call and the diagnostic fee is payable.

2. Diagnostic fee

The diagnostic fee is quoted to you when the visit is booked. It covers inspection of the appliance, identification of the fault and a written quote for the repair, and it is credited in full against your invoice when you approve the repair on the same visit. If you decline the repair, the diagnostic fee is payable and nothing further is charged.

3. Quotes and approval

Repairs are quoted at a flat price covering parts and labour, not at an hourly rate. No work beyond diagnosis begins until you approve the quote. If further faults are found once the appliance is opened, work stops and a revised quote is issued for your approval before continuing. Quotes are valid for 30 days.

4. Parts

We fit genuine manufacturer parts wherever they are available. Where a part is discontinued and a quality equivalent exists, we will identify it in the quote before fitting it. Parts that must be ordered are confirmed with an expected lead time at the diagnosis. Special-order and non-stock parts may be non-returnable once ordered, and we will tell you when that is the case.

5. Payment

Payment is due on completion of the work, once the appliance has been tested. We accept card and bank transfer. Account customers managing multiple properties may be invoiced on agreed terms. Title to any part fitted remains with us until payment is received in full.

6. Warranty

Completed repairs carry a written warranty covering both the part supplied and the labour to install it. The warranty period is stated on your invoice. If the same fault recurs within that period, we will return and correct it at no charge. The warranty does not cover:

  • A different fault, or a new fault in another component.
  • Damage caused by misuse, accident, power surge, water damage, pests, or work carried out by anyone else after our visit.
  • Appliances that have been moved, modified or reinstalled since the repair.
  • Consumable items, filters, seals subject to normal wear, and blockages caused by foreign objects.
  • Customer-supplied parts, which are fitted at your risk and carry labour warranty only.

7. Cancellation and rescheduling

You may cancel or reschedule at no charge up to two hours before the start of your arrival window. Cancellation after the technician has been dispatched, or failure to provide access, is chargeable at the diagnostic fee.

8. Appliances we may decline

We may decline to work on an appliance where it is unsafe to do so, where a manufacturer warranty requires an authorised servicer, where required parts are no longer available, or where the repair is not economically sensible. In each case we will explain why, and only the diagnostic fee is payable.

9. Limitation of liability

We carry insurance for the work we perform and we are responsible for damage caused by our negligence. To the extent permitted by law, our total liability arising from any visit is limited to the amount you paid us for that visit, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, including spoiled food, loss of use or loss of business. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.

10. Pre-existing condition

Older appliances, corroded fittings and previous non-professional repairs can fail when an appliance is moved or opened for service. Where we identify such a risk we will tell you before proceeding. We are not responsible for the failure of components that were already at the end of their life.

11. Communications

By booking, you agree that we may contact you by phone, email and, where you have consented, text message about your service request. See our SMS Terms and Privacy Policy.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, and any dispute will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of Illinois.

13. Changes

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one published on this page on the date your booking is made.
