Your trusted partner in appliance repair
A+ Appliance Repair and Maintenance started with one van and one technician in the western suburbs. We grew the way service businesses are supposed to grow — on neighbours recommending us to each other in Lombard, Wheaton and Glen Ellyn, rather than on advertising spend. Today our technicians cover Chicago and DuPage County, handling everything from a laundry pair in a starter home to a full built-in kitchen in Hinsdale.
We are still small enough that the person who answers the phone knows which technician is closest to you, and large enough to hold same-day slots seven days a week.
How this company started
It started because people needed a repair service they did not have to second-guess. The complaints we heard again and again were always the same three: a technician who would not commit to a price, a part that was replaced without ever being tested, and a company that stopped answering the phone when the same fault came back.
Everything we do commercially is a direct answer to one of those. The diagnostic fee buys you a written quote and nothing else is charged unless you agree to it. Parts are tested before they are replaced, not swapped hopefully. And a repair that fails inside its warranty period brings us back at our cost, not yours.
What we do
We repair and maintain residential and light commercial appliances: refrigeration, laundry, dishwashers, cooking equipment, ventilation, hot water, heating and cooling. Technicians are assigned by appliance category and by brand platform, which is why a Sub-Zero call and a Whirlpool call do not get the same person — they need different documentation, different parts and different experience.
We work on mass-market equipment and on luxury built-ins with equal seriousness. A $600 washer deserves an accurate diagnosis just as much as a $12,000 refrigeration column does; the difference is in the parts and the access, not in the standard of the work.
What we will always tell you
- When a repair is not worth doing. If the number approaches half the cost of replacing the appliance, we say so and you pay the diagnostic only.
- When the manufacturer should be covering it. Sealed systems, compressors and several known model faults carry extended coverage. Checking that is the first thing we do, not the last.
- What the part actually costs and what the labour actually costs. Itemised, in writing, before any work starts.
- When a job is not one we should take. There is equipment we do not service and warranties we would void. We would rather lose the booking than the trust.
